Bookout Acceptable Use Policy

DRAFT — NOT YET IN EFFECT. Working draft prepared without legal review. A qualified lawyer must review this document before it is published or relied on.

Version: 1.0-draft-2026-07-25 · Effective date: [TBD]

This policy applies to everyone who uses Bookout — Owners and their sites,
and Members and visitors. It is part of the Terms of Service.

You must not

1. Break the law — no content or activity that is illegal where you or
your audience are located, including infringement of copyright, trademark
or publicity rights.
2. Harm or exploit anyone — no content that sexualises or endangers
minors (zero tolerance; reported to authorities), no harassment, threats,
doxxing or hate content.
3. Sell what Stripe prohibits — everything sold through a Bookout site is
processed by Stripe and must comply with Stripe's
Prohibited and Restricted Businesses list.
This includes Stripe's restrictions on adult content and services.
4. Deceive — no fraud, phishing, impersonation, fake goods, misleading
claims, or selling other people's personal data.
5. Spam — journal emails may only go to people who subscribed on your
site; every mailing must keep the built-in unsubscribe link working. No
purchased lists, no unsolicited bulk email.
6. Attack the platform — no malware, scraping of other tenants' data,
probing or disrupting the service, or attempting to access accounts or
data that are not yours.
7. Misuse Member data — Owners may use Member data (bookings, messages,
subscriber lists) only to run their own site and services, consistent
with the DPA and their own privacy obligations.

Enforcement

We may remove content, suspend or terminate accounts, and (for payment
violations) Stripe may independently suspend the connected account. Where
practical we will notify the account holder and give a chance to fix the
problem; for serious violations (items 2–4) we may act immediately.

Reporting

Report violations to [abuse@bookout.studio]. Include the site address and a
description of the issue.
